January Favourites!

Hello,

Seeing as it's the last day of January I thought I'd do a January favourites blog post. Its not just beauty and fashion its everything!

The first thing that I've been loving this month is the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes waterproof eye liner (black). Wow what can I say this eye liner is so so so so so so so so amazing. Its so easy to apply as the tip is really thin and leaves a pretty effortless finish. Its on offer in Superdrug at the moment for £4.50 which is such a bargain. I defiantly recommend this if your looking for a cheap, amazing eye liner!
The next thing I've been loving is the pattern, Dogtooth. For my birthday I received a really cute Dogtooth print dress (pictured). It's the next sale but I'm not sure the exact price. Anyway, getting this pretty dress for my birthday made me realise how much I love Dogtooth. I've done an OOTD (outfit of the day) wearing this dress on our instagram so go have a look (@simplyfashi0n_x).
My next favourite this month is, *drum roll* fairy lights! I've always loved fairy lights to tell you the truth, but a couple of weeks ago I purchased these flower lights from primark. They don't produce much light because of the design but to be quite honest I don't care, They're so beautiful. They were quite expensive for primark at £6, but are so pretty and match my room perfectly (there was also white ones). I also have plain fairy lights around my bed which create much more light, they look so cute at night!
Just look at this colour...Oh My! Okay, so this is the Barry m glitter nail polish in 'Duchess'. Victoria got this for me for my birthday, as she has it and I always complimented her on it! Its a silvery pinky goldy pretty colour (sorry for the pooey description). But honestly I so recommend you have a sneaky purchase of this as its sooooo worth it!

The food that I've been loving this January has to be 'reeses peanut cups'. Oh My God, these are the BEST! They're american, but you can get them in Watrose for 60p and also in Mr simms for 99p!

The last thing I've loved this January is the soap, Hollyoaks! I've been watching Hollyoaks for a long time but this month I've really enjoyed watching it. The storylines have been so exiting! Its on everyday (except Saturday & Sunday) on channel 4 at 6:30, and on E4 at 7:00. (For the next days episode).

I know its not much but those are the main things I've been loving this month! If you enjoyed this blog post please comment below and make sure you are following! Also comment below what you've been loving this month, I love to know! Cherio guys!

How to make Oreo Brownies!

Hey,

I blogged about this on our previous blog and everyone seemed to like it, so I thought I'd ask you guys on instagram if you'd read it, and all you all said yes!
I'm such a sweet tooth so these Oreo brownies are just perfect!

Ingredients:

165g / 5.5oz - Butter, plus extra for grease
200g / 7oz - Dark chocolate, grated or finely chopped
3 eggs
2 egg yolks
1 vanilla pod (seeds only) or 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
165g / 5.5oz - soft light brown sugar
2 tablespoons plain flour
1 tablespoon coco powder
154g / 5.5oz - Oreos, broken into quarters

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 6. Grease a 20cm/8in square baking tin with butter, then line with baking paper.
2. Melt the butter in a pan over a medium heat. When the butter has melted, remove the pan from the heat and add the grated (or chopped) chocolate. Leave to stand for a few minutes or until the chocolate melts and then stir together.
3. Whisk the eggs, egg yolks and vanilla together in a large bowl until the eggs begin to get light and fluffy. Add the sugar in two additions, whisking between each. Keep mixing until the mixture becomes stiffer. Once the egg and sugar mixture is ready, pour in the chocolatey mixture and stir.
4. Add the flour, coco powder, and a third of the Oreos and stir until fully combined, then pour the mixture into the prepared tin. Scatter the remaining Oreos over the top, pressing them in slightly. Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 25-30 minutes.
5. Once out of the oven they should be ever so slightly gooey inside, then leave the brownies to cool in the tin, dont be suprised if the top sinks and cracks a little bit.
6. pull the brownies out with the paper, and cut into squares. Then enjoy your yummy treat.

Comment below if you tried making them, I defiantly recommend making them! Also comment some post ideas, we were thinking of doing the '20 things about me' blog post (10 between both of us) Will you read it?
Thanks for reading guys, your fabulous!

Easy halo braid tutorial♡

Easy Halo Braid Hair Tutorial...

Hello everyone, if you would like to find out how to achieve this easy, effortless hairstyle read on!
I have taken inspiration for this look from Sienna Miller.

This is the final look from the top.

You will need:

  • A hairbrush.
  • Hair grips or bobby pins.
  • Small elastic hair bands, preferably clear or similar to your hair colour.
  • Tail comb, or something to get a precise parting.
  • Hairspray.

Firstly brush your hair through thoroughly.
Section your hair into a precise middle parting.
Plait your hair as close to your head as possible, make sure it is very tight.
Once you have plaited as far down as you can, secure your hair with a clear elastic band.
After that, pull and tug on your hair to make your braid looser and a bit fatter.
Pull your plait so that it sits on top of your head, and secure with plenty of hair grips. Make sure that when you let go your braid stays in place.
Now plait the other half of your hair, so you have two plaits, secure the plait on your head like you did in the previous step. Don't worry about the ends of the plaits sticking up.
After that secure the ends of the plaits using hair grips, to tuck them under the braid and hide any bits you don't want to be seen.
Make sure the back looks as good as the front.
Finally use even more hair grips to secure your fringe or any fly away hair in place. I like to pull little bits of hair out to frame my face and make the look a little more effortless. In order to keep your hair in place I recommend using a bit of hairspray.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, please comment below to let us know what you want to see.

Daisys OOTD...

Hey guys,

Today I'm going to share my outfit with you! If you like these kind of posts then please comment below, and make sure your follow it, so you wont miss a thing! Okay lets get started...

Okay so this is the top half of my outfit today. I actually love collars so much they add so much to your outfit. By just adding a cute collar your outfit instantly looks 'girlier'. This collared top is actually patterned, it has daisy's on it, its super cute and was only £6 from primark. To go on top of my collared top I wore my new navy cricket jumper. With out the collar this jumper would look so boring! This jumper is from H&M and was £14.
Now onto my favourite part of my outfit...shoes! These are the newest shoes to my much loved collection. Every girl needs a pair of chelsea boots, whether they're black, grey or brown, Chelsea boots are a staple item in my wardrobe. These ones are from Primark and are £12! My frilly socks are from topshop, £3 each or 3 for £8! The jeans I'm wearing are super skinnys from new look, £18.
This is a zoomed-out view of my outfit! I'm wearing my coat because it was freezing outside today, my coat is from matalan, but I'm not sure how much it was because my mum got it for me!
I thought I'd show you the lip colour I wore with this outfit today! I'm wearing a MAC frost lipstick in the shade 'angel'. Its such a pretty pink nude. Its quite natural so it looks really great with this outfit.

Basically everything I was wearing today is new or newish so the items will still be available in the stores. If you guys liked this post please let us known in the comments and we will do more of them.

Q. what's a staple piece in your wardrobe?

comparing concealers...

Hello,

It's Daisy here, today I'm going to be comparing the 'Rimmel London, match perfection' concealer, with the 'collection lasting perfection' concealer...

The 'Rimmel London, match perfection' concealer is quite high coverage, but the appliance of too much can look 'cakey'. I actually got the wrong shade of this for my skin tone, but I could wear it when I have a tan as its quite orangey. It feels light on the skin, but doesn't last long on the skin. It's got a brush applicator and in my opinion its quite hard to blend. The concealer is about £5, so it won't break the bank.
The 'Collection Lasting Perfection' concealer is probably the best concealer I've ever used...ever! Its so easy to apply and blend its also such high coverage. It doesn't look 'cakey' even if you apply lots. I use this concealer for under my eyes as its amazing coverage for under-eye circles. I don't have spots so I don't know whether it covers spots, but before I brought this I read and watched lots of reviews and many beauty gurus use this to cover up spots and blemishes. I definitely recommend this even more so than the rimmel one, as in my opinion its so much better!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this blog post, and we really appreciate it if you guys could follow us, we'll follow you back! Be sure to follow us on instagram aswell as we always follow back; @simplyfashi0n_x
